Articulation, that is clarity is crucial to a beautiful voice. So, today please think about this: vowels carry the music and emotion of speech and consonants carry the meaning. Vowels are akin to the female and consonants the male. Record yourself and try to listen carefully. Are you using your consonants, are they clear. Do you finish your consonants at the end of words or do your words trail off? Are your vowels open and ‘fat’, do they have fullness. Or are they squeezed, too short and maybe nasal? Practice by exaggerating, pretending you are a bad 19th century actor. Oh you are not going to walk around doing that, of corse not. But practicing by exaggerating will
help you be more aware of how words are really BUILT.
